Since Pebble Time devices have now reached some of its intended users, specifically those who supported its Kickstarter campaign, it’s now time to upgrade its firmware for those using the wearable on an Android platform. A lot of the changes that they’ve made are based on user feedback and suggestions, and on their official site, they even put some of the exact tweets that have inspired the developers to make on the firmware.

If you think that the settings for the backlight intensity of your new Pebble Time could do with a little bit more customization, they agree with you. They now have new settings to choose from when it comes not just to how strong or weak the backlight should be, but as well as how long that particular setting should be. Users now also have more choices when it comes to vibration intensity, as well as font sizes in the notifications, layouts, and other areas that can now be adjusted.

Now as to the question and wish for some users that their “old school” Pebble and Pebble Steel will ever get a firmware update, the company assured them that yes they will. However, it will be later this year and there is no guarantee yet as to when this will happen. But they do want their “legacy models” to also enjoy the timeline interface and other features that Pebble Time users are now enjoying.

Updating your firmware, should you already have the Pebble Time, is pretty simple. Just go to the Pebble Time app on your connected smartphone, go to the Menu > Support > Update your Pebble, and voila, you’re on your way to a hopefully better Pebble experience.
