Finally, the new Pebble Time smartwatch and fitness tracker in-one is now available. The Kickstarter project which started shipping last May and went up for pre-order in Best Buy a few weeks ago is now ready for wider release. The smartwatch is now ready for shipping from Best Buy and and pebble.com. Device will be available from Target starting next month August 17.
Those who were generous enough to send in their donations and give their support to the project through Kickstarter have already received their Pebble Time units. It’s only now that the rest of the American market can get their hands on the new smartwatch. Note that the Pebble Time already received its first firmware update to version 3.1 last week.
To review, the new Pebble Time comes equipped with a color E-Paper display screen protected by a durable glass lens. The watch features an ergonomic design for a more comfortable wear compared to the previous model. It’s also water-resistant so you don’t have to worry about water seeping inside when you’re in the shower or in the pool. There’s a timeline interface that shows different information like weather, breaking news, sports scores, calendar events, app alerts, and missed calls so you won’t miss any important notifications.
As a fitness tracker, Pebble Time can also work with apps like Misfit, Jawbone, Runkeeper, or Fitocracy to track of the number of hours slept or the number of steps walked. With Pebble Time, you have no reason not to have a record of your health and fitness habits.
Pebble Time also features a small microphone so you can easily record voice memos. It’s Bluetooth-connected so you can easily pair it with other devices and stream music from your Spotify or Pandora account.
You can purchase Pebble Time straight from Pebble.com, Best Buy, and Target
