While most people use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox (and hey, some are still loyal to Internet Explorer!) as their default browser for both mobile and desktop, there are also some out there that have a small but loyal following. Opera is one of those secondary apps which started out as a mobile alternative to the main browser powerhouses, but now has 300 million mobile users and 55 million desktop users. The latest update now gives you the ability to sync between devices.

This feature has actually been available already on the developer and beta versions of the Opera app, but now, everyone else will be able to enjoy it. Bookmarks are still important, despite numerous apps that have other ways to let you save links. But having a quick way to do it on your browser is still a must. Syncing your bookmarks across devices that have Opera installed is pretty easy. All you need to do is log in to a singular account, whether you’re using it on a desktop, tablet, or smartphone, and all the bookmarks you’ve saved will then be available in the various devices.

You’ll still be able to use Opera without singing in to your account, if you think that’s too much hassle. But of course, then you can’t sync your bookmarks and settings anymore. The update also has other minor changes, including texture compression, an upgrade to Chromium 41, the usual bug fixes and improvements, and a new app icon as well.

You can now update your Opera if you still haven’t yet. Or if you don’t have it as a browser and are sick and tired of your Firefox or Chrome constantly crashing, you can download the app for free from the Google Play Store. Opera Mini for Android however is not included in the update just yet.
