OpenEars

If you think geeks are running out of ways to innovate in-ear headphones, you’re wrong. There are more ways to update the headphones and one Kickstarter project was started to prove that we can do more with them. OpenEars by Binauric SE is the first pair of Bluetooth in-ear headphones that allows you to record videos with 3D audio to share and stream. The great quality of sound is promised, as well as, reliable GoPro connection and HearThrough mode.

The selling-point of the OpenEars is the fact that you could record true audio impressions together with your photo or video. You can share audio files in impressive acoustic quality as it saves sound binaurally. For a different auditory experience, the OpenEars boasts of the “HearThrough” function that allows the user to still be part of the surroundings when recording.

OpenEars are like your “real” ears you won’t even notice that you are wearing a pair in your ears. Listen to high sound quality from your smartphone and enjoy a perfect fit, easy control, and fast charging in less than an hour. When recording, it does binaural recording and stores sounds with the app. It can also do live streaming to easily share experiences with family and friends.

Since this is a Bluetooth-connected device, it’s perfect as an ordinary Bluetooth headset. It features passive noise isolation and works with a GoPro camera. The 3D audio recording makes this one more interesting and special because it lets you share record the sound as you hear it and then share them with everyone in real time via live streaming.

This is a crowdfunded project, and as such may not deliver what its creators initially promise. Most crowdfunding sites, like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, have policies about what happens to your money if the project fails to deliver on its goals, but choosing to back a project is inevitably a risk. Android Community’s reporting on crowdfunded projects should in no way be seen as an endorsement, unless specifically stated, and we recommend closely examining the terms and conditions to understand your individual rights as a backer before making a pledge.
