The OnePlus X was our number one recommendation for a bang-for-your-precious-buck smartphone, if you want to get a new phone this holiday season. So for those who want to get one, this is good news for you. China-based outfit OnePlus is ditching its invite system every Tuesday, so you can go purchase the powerful midrange phone without an invite on the said day.
The OnePlus X is OnePlus’s second phone of 2015, and the third one in the company’s short history. The main flagship phone is targeted to take on the high-end gadgets of other manufacturers, but the OnePlus X is firmly a midranger, but with robust specs and a lower midrange price at USD$250. For that, you get a 5-inch FullHD (1080p) phone powered by a still competent Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and 3GB RAM.
This is clearly one of the best phones you can get at this price range, considering the build quality and the gorgeous design. You also get 16GB internal storage, a bit small, but the company had to cut costs somewhere. There is a microSD slot if you need more storage, and you will.
The camera combo is at 13MP/8MP, so it is still a very usable shooter. Check out OnePlus’s website every Tuesday to get your OnePlus X without an invite.
