OnePlus took a risk and updated its flagship within 6 months of launch – they phased out sales for the OnePlus 3 and in came the improved OnePlus 3T. Although OxygenOS’s Nougat builds are still in beta, you can bet that some developer out there will be pushing code to get Android Nougat to this flagship. Well, that day has arrived.
XDA member “PeterCxy” has just ported vanilla CyanogenMod 14.1 for OnePlus 3 – which as you know is based on Android 7.1 Nougat – for the OnePlus 3T. This is an unofficial build, of course. But the features you probably want on Nougat are here and now available.
Since nothing is stable and official yet in CM14.1 for the OnePlus 3, this ported build will contain all the known bugs the nightly build has. Also, the developer has shared some bugs he noticed, which includes the front camera only going up to 4MP instead of the improved 16MP on the stock software. Also, the dev thinks that there might be issues with LTE connections on other networks, although he hasn’t experienced it himself.
So if you’re willing to live with those bugs, then you can flash this ROM via a custom recovery (TWRP is recommended). We don’t recommend using this as your daily driver, but if you want to try it anyways, check out the source link below for the download links.
