After that bit of outrage last week, OnePlus is sharing their excitement about several things they are working on. The OnePlus 2 is officially coming and has already received criticisms this early. The tech startup was quick to express and defend themselves, asking the consumers to be patient and just wait for the smartphone to be released before any judgment.
We had no idea about this but the company has been looking for other opportunities. Aside from smartphones, OnePlus is dabbling on virtual reality because this field certainly has potential. It may be a long time before VR experience becomes a standard in gaming and other industries but we’re certainly in its early stages. Google is one of those few companies pushing for its advancement and now even OnePlus wants to join in the fun.
Virtual reality is expected to be a game changer not online in the mobile industry but also in communication, education, and entertainment. With that in mind, OnePlus wants to take advantage of the idea by launching the OnePlus 2 in VR. The official unveiling set on July 27 is going to be a complete virtual reality experience. Everyone around the world can stream the event. The company aims to “bring” you to the launch, right there with the team and other fans. How? Through a virtual reality headset.
The OnePlus developers liked the idea of cardboard VR headsets so they worked on their own custom OnePlus Cardboard page. It’s very similar to Google Cardboard but OnePlus says it is better.
The company believes “VR is the future” and that they are committed to making it happen. This VR launch is just one step into the future so everyone is being invited to experience the OnePlus 2 with them. It’s a new way to launch a product and we’re excited to know how this one will work.
OnePlus noted that “this is not a product; it’s an initiative”. The company is even losing money with each piece of Cardboard but it’s serious with putting this idea forward and launching its next flagship in virtual reality style.
Not much information have been shared yet about how and where to get the OnePlus Cardboard but details will be released soon. Stay tuned.
