NVIDIA has released Update 110 for its SHIELD Portable gaming console. As we said, it’s still not the update to Android Marshmallow that you’ve been waiting for, but it does squash some annoying bugs that have plagued SHIELD Portable users for some time now. Make sure you get this update pretty soon.

While NVIDIA has been pushing its Android TV console, users of the NVIDIA SHIELD Portable can at least be assured that the graphics and gaming company has not forgotten about its first SHIELD device, the SHIELD Portable. It may run on lower specs, but it is still a formidable portable gaming console. Update 110 will bring fixes, although it still doesn’t bring the much awaited bump to Marshmallow.

The fixes include:

– Updates SHIELD security to the latest Android Security Bulletins
– Fixes a bug that causes the LED brightness level to reset after a system restart
– Resolves instances of the audio volume fluctuating during video playback
– Fixes a bug that could result in SHIELD becoming unresponsive after lid close and reopen
– Resolves instances of the ‘Optimizing apps’ message appearing in error

This will be a pretty big-ish download, so make sure you are on a stable WiFi connection when you run this update. Still no Marshmallow, but at least the fixes and the security patches are here.
