Last week, Amazon showed off the NVIDIA SHIELD and SHIELD Pro. Unfortunately, the SHIELD Pro listing was quickly taken down. Perhaps it was an honest mistake by Amazon or NVIDIA still isn’t ready to make a major announcement. But no need to spend time thinking if it’s real or not because we’re telling you it is real. We’ve seen the signs and NVIDIA could only be preparing for a big launch of the 500GB Pro variant of the SHIELD.
The 500GB Shield Pro device popped up on the company’s official website already but similar to the Amazon page, it has since been taken down. According to NVIDIA, it was only a dev hardware. However, an NVIDIA employee known as ManuelG has confirmed on a forum that the SHIELD Pro is legit and is on still track for a May announcement. We only have less than two weeks before end of the month so we’re guessing NVIDIA will launch it prior to or during the Google I/O Conference.
The NVIDIA Shield Pro was listed for $299 but that could still change. ManuelG also shared that it will arrive with Netflix support already and that the SHIELD tablet will receive the Android 5.1 update soon.

I’m confused. All the speculation about the Shield Portable 2 stopped as soon as Shield TV was announced. Is TV the device all the evidence was pointing too? Or is there still evidence for a Portable 2 on the way?
