You may not be familiar with NUU Mobile but that’s fine. I don’t know the brand either but the company isn’t really interested in making it big in the United States. No, it has no plans of beating big names like Apple, Samsung, or other Chinese phone manufacturers out there. NUU is content in making unlocked phones and releasing them in the country and making them ready-for-purchase from various networks like T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, MetroPCS, or AT&T. NUU’s goal is to reach more people as possible by being widely available and ready for quick use.

If you’re a small startup, there’s no point in rivaling huge companies like Samsung especially when it comes to Android devices because you really can’t beat them. NUU Mobile’s latest offering is the NUU Z8 that runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box–unlocked, of course. Phone comes equipped with a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1280 pixel resolution (400 PPI) and is powered by a 1.7GHz MediaTek MTK6752 processor.

When it comes to imaging, the NUU Z8 has a 13 megapixel camera with Sony-manufactured lens and an 8 megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens. As for connectivity, there’s the standard WiFi and Bluetooth plus 4G LTE already. Phone also features 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot for memory expansion, dual SIM and dual standby support in case you’re wondering.

The NUU Z8 Android phone may not be as powerful but it’s good enough for $299.99. You can get the smartphone without any contract from several retail stores, carriers, and Best Buy soon. It’s just an entry-level Android device that’s certainly cheaper than the new Moto X Style which was unveiled only yesterday. So if you’re looking for a new entry-level Android Lollipop-powered phone, consider NUU Z8.
