The Xiami Mi A1 was one of the first Android One phones available. It was released September last year and rolled out in Europe and Indonesia among others. Xiaomi tried looking for stock Android Oreo beta testers for Mi A1 who were the first ones to experience faster charging and app loading time, receive Android O 7.12.29 OTA update, and use the fingerprint unlock directly from reboot. We’re already looking forward to Mi A2 which is also believed to be the Mi 6X. It will feature dual rear cameras and an 18:9 display.

Actually, Xiaomi already introduced the Mi 6X in China complete with a 5.99-inch FHD+ LCD screen, dual rear 20MP and 12MP cameras, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, and a 20MP selfie camera. The phone is powered by MIUI 9.5 and Android 8.1 Oreo. The Xiaomi Mi A2 has yet to be introduced but we’re guessing it’s the same as the Mi 6X. Last year’s Mi A1 is basically the Mi 5X so we’re assuming it will be the same this year.

Stock Android on a smartphone is preferred by most people because of the lack of bloatware or pre-installed apps. Recently spotted firmware files reveal the possibility of a new Android One device.

A reference to a “jasmine_sprout” was discovered. Sprout is used on most Android One devices so this new sprout is expected to also be an Android One phone. There’s also that “daisy_sprout” device which is now believed to be another Android One phone. We’re crossing our fingers it will be the Xiaomi Redmi S2.
