It’s time for a new Plants vs Zombies 2 update and for some reason unbeknownst to us, they decided to go back to a decade that most of us would like to escape from: the 80s. It is officially called the Neon Mixtape Tour, Side B, and is of course, like most of their updates, filled with new plants to use as weapons, new zombies to kill with said weapons, new levels to enjoy in case you’ve finished all the previous ones already.

The three new plants that you can use to kill the hordes of zombies that are trying to get into your house and eat your brains are the Sporeshroom, the Garlic, and the Intensive Carrot. The Sporeshroom duplicates, or rather spawns itself after it has killed a zombie while the Garlic makes zombies change lanes after they’ve eaten it (too bad there aren’t any vampires to kill with these). The Intensive Carrot is something that you can use for the plants that have already been destroyed by the zombies.

Of course if there are new plants, there are also new zombies and they seem like they were resurrected from the 80s. Well, it is an 80s themed stage after all. The Breakdancer Zombie does exactly what its name suggests. The Arcade Zombie brings with him an arcade cabinet that spawns three 8-bit basic zombies, and what’s more, this cabinet can absorb damage. The Boombox Zombie is also musically inclined and brings with him, you guessed it, a boombox.

The update brings 16 new levels and two new music genres that are of course 80s throwbacks. The Neon Mixtape Tour, Side B is now available to download if you already have the Plants Vs Zombies 2 app on your Android device.
