We’re counting the days until the 2nd of August. Between today and the next Galaxy Unpacked event, expect more leaked information and images. Today, we’ve uncovered another set of prototype images that showed up from where else–China. This could be the next-gen Note because the panel here matches the other one leaked a few days ago.

This one though appears to be the flat screen variant we said could be only one of the earlier prototypes. However, this gallery shows more than just the front panel but even the stylus, back panel, opening screen, charging screen, Wi-Fi setting, and the bottom area.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 ab

The back cover appears to be glass so the Note 7 may not be full-metal at all. This one may also be the flat variant. The large ‘Galaxy Note 7’ logo on the opening screen clearly tells us this is the Note 7. But then again, this could be fake or really just an early prototype.

Okay, so we’re still holding on to the idea that there will be a flat variant and another curved edge screen model. This particular set of images somehow makes us believe that Samsung will continue the tradition of a flat Note and the curved edge display for the Note edge. What do you think?

  1. Just adding more fuel to the fire, that’ll eventually lead to a lot of disappointed fans holding out hope for a flat version…LOL. Anything for clicks, I guess.

Seems pretty apparent that these leaks are all showing the early prototypes.

    • How is that “apparent” that it’s an early prototype? What exactly makes you so confident? Every other leak of curved screens are probably prototypes too.

      • Accesory manufacturers are typically given the pre-production model, prior to the phone’s release. None of the accessories available for pre-order are made for a flat panel display, including screen protectors and tempered glass. For those that have followed the Note 7 rumors and developments religiously, myself included, know that Evan Blass had mentioned that Samsung would only be releasing one or the other. There would not be a choice of either/or between flat and curved screen. None of the official looking press image leaks have showed a flat screen, and Samsung’s official invite fornthe 8/2 event shows hints of a curved display, which Samsung has traditionally done on their event invites (e.g. show hints of design language on the invite). If you look at all of the accessories available for pre-order currently, in particular Spigen (very popular accessory maker), they are using the press images that have been leaked and none of those images show a flat screen. I cannot imagine that spigen would only make curved screen accessories available for pre-order, if a flat screen version were also on the horizon.

All that said, Samsung could surprise everyone, but I haven’t seen any other hints at their being a flat version with exception to a couple leaked images that don’t even show branding. To me, that points to those images being early prototypes.

  2. Nobody actually knows anything, those confident it will be curved, or a flat and curved variety or whatever else they believe have no clue. People should avoid making idiots of themselves and just wait for the launch.

  3. This is the perfect phone i was waiting for.
Note 4 and note 5 in one.
    And all black looks nice.
    And of course flat.
If this comes out its mine the i will buy it.
I have s7-edge and the screen i prefer my note 4.
Better to hold and see movies.

    • What makes this phone anything like the Note 4? Non removable battery and glass back. I’m still using the Note 4. I’ll be parting ways with Samsung now after their cynical move to seal in the battery and put a glass back on their phones to stop replacement, making their phones disposable. I’d rather choose any other manufacturer, even with sealed in batteries!

      • Who change battery in this days, only battery i change it was in s3 and was 3 or 4 times, and now with fast charge , don’t need that.
The only thing its one more glass to brake nothing else.
        Forget that.
Note 4 is has a great screen but the rest is
        old .
        Camera really sucks.
