We first heard the news that Samsung would be working on a Galaxy A8 mid-range phone with 16MP camera. A hands-on video was leaked earlier and then we also saw photos of the upcoming phablet.
Some Korean brochure was believed to be showing off the Galaxy A8 (model SM-A800FZDE) by mistake too. So many rumors and speculations but finally, the phone-tablet was officially listed by Samsung on its Indian website after being released in China last month. The device is now ready for purchase if you can afford the 32500 ruppees ($508) price tag. That’s an expensive phone but still more affordable compared to the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.
Specs of the Galaxy A8 include the following: Ultra Slim Full Metal Body, narrow bezel, 16MP main camera, 15MP front-facing camera, 1.9 aperture, Fingerprint sensor, new touch type, Wide SelfieRear Cam Selfie for the selfie addicts, 5.7-inch FHD sAMOLED display, a quad core processor, and a 3050mAh Battery.
Specs include 2GB RAM, 32GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for expansion, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, LTE Cat6 connectivity, and the usual sensors (Proximity, Accelerometer, Fingerprint, Geomagnetic, and Light).
Others have said that this could well be the thinnest smartphone from Samsung. It looks really slim at 158.0 x 76.8 x 5.9mm. We’ll check this information against other ultra slim smartphones from other manufacturers we’ve seen in the past.
