While most of us wait in anticipation for the 2.1 OTA, a low-end device emerges with it preinstalled. Movistar, in partnership with Huawei, has launched a low-cost Android-powered handset called the Ivy. The Movistar IVY comes with the usual Google apps and is expected to launch shortly in Europe.

It has a 2.8 inch resistive touch screen, Android 2.1, 3.2 MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. It will be powered by the same Qualcomm MSM7225 processor that is in the HTC Tattoo. The handset comes preloaded with Facebook and MovistarAeA’s multiplatform social network, called Keteke. And not only will you have the option of using Google Maps for navigation, it comes preloaded with another one of Movistar’s apps, Ruta Movistar Navigation service.

It also comes with a 2GB microSD card and can be sync your exchange emails and update calendars and tasks via USB port. You can share files and connect to a wireless network through the phones Bluetooth. Depending on your plan, it will cost between EUR 0 and EUR 95. This handset should be available right now.
