So if you’re one of the lucky beings to own a DROID Turbo 2 – yes, that one available only with Verizon and has a shatter-proof screen – this is going to be good news for you. After waiting a while, and if you did not jump the gun by rooting your phone and installing a custom ROM on it, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is finally coming to the DROID Turbo 2.

This will automatically be relevant if you own a Motorola DROID Turbo 2. If you don’t, we remind you that it’s probably one of the sturdiest phones around, and with great specs to boot. The 5.4-inch QHD display is protected by Motorola’s ShatterShield technology, proven working via a 275-foot drop test. That’s powered by a still competent Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage, expandable to 2TB via microSD.

Android Marshmallow will features like “Now on Tap” contextual menus, better battery management when idle via Doze Mode, the new app permission structure, and expandable adoptable storage. The update will also bring a few tweaks to internal Moto software like the Moto Ambient Display, Moto Assist, and Attentive Display.

Getting the update is pretty easy, but you have to make sure you’re on a stable connection. That would mean WiFi, we don’t recommend you getting the update on your Verizon data connection. The update is a full version upgrade, so it will be quite large. It is also recommended that you are on a full charge when doing the update.
