The Xiaomi Mi 9 is coming. It’s been spotted in the wild and we were told the new flagship phone is arriving next week. A Xiaomi executive confirmed that the device will launch on February 20. Wang Xiang (@XiangW_) described the Mi 9 will be ready in a beautiful and unique color that’s made with nano-level laser engraving holographic technology and dual layer nano-coating. At the MIUI forum, Xiaomi announced that it’s kicking off the Year of the Pig with the new Mi phone.

The phone runs on the latest Snapdragon 855 processor from Qualcomm. That’s the only new detail we got aside from another confirmation that the Xiaomi Mi 9’s brand ambassador will be TFBOYS Roy (Wang Yuan).

Wang Yuan is seen in a photo holding a Xiaomi Mi 9 with a limited edition phone case. We have a feeling many fans, at least in China, will be convinced to buy the Mi 9 because of the endorser.

Xiaomi is making sure the Mi 9 is more powerful than the previous Mi 8 phone. The “Battle Angel” phone will be introduced on the same day as Samsung’s Galaxy unpacked event.

Expect the Xiaomi Mi 9 phone to come with a triple rear camera setup. The said feature makes it a worthy rival of the Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20, and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10+. Its price could be anything between 3000 and 4,000 yuan ($444 to $592).
