Remember the Montblanc e-Strap we featured earlier this month? The new smart device from the luxury watchmaker has been spotted at the SIHH 2015 (Salon Internationale de la Haute Horlogerie) in Geneva, Switzerland this week. Normally, you will only see traditional watches but since Montblanc is trying to venture into the smartwatch industry, looks like a new trend has started. Montblanc CEO Jerome Lambert was seen wearing the e-Strap while at the show and Alexander Linz of Watch-Insider.com was able to snap up photos of what we can consider a luxury smartwatch.
Well technically, this isn’t really a smartwatch as it is just a strap. But the e-Strap brings the “smartwatch” functions to a Montblanc watch. Officially known as the TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap, this interchangeable strap comes with a small screen that displays remote control functions, activity trackers, Find-Me, and smart notifications. The e-Strap can be used with any TimeWalker timepiece from Montblanc.
The Swiss luxury watchmaker wants to upgrade the timepiece to something more hi-tech. The problem with most smartwatches in the market today is that they are not as stylish. Some you can consider even geeky-looking but Montblanc wants to change that even though the e-Strap is just an accessory.
No need to suffer style, design, and luxury with the e-Strap from Montblanc. With this one, you can enjoy both a luxury timepiece and smartwach functions. Check out some of the first live photos of the e-Strap below:
