If you gifted yourself (or received it as a gift) with the Misfit Flash Cyclist’s Edition last month, you probably were frustrated with the lack of software to go along with it and had to rely on non-official ones. If you found them inadequate, you’ll be pleased to know that Misfit has now released the official companion app for your wearable, called Misfit Cycling of course. It is a standalone app but can also work in conjunction with other cycling apps like MapMyRide, Strava, etc.

Basically, what the Misfit Cycling app does is interpret the data that your wearable has gotten for you. It tracks your workout through cycling, by giving you real-time GPS and cadence data. Your cycling sessions can now be tracked and recorded through maps, RPMs, and distance sessions. You can also use the app to send data to other bike tracking apps that you may have previously used and are comfortable with, like MapMyRide. The arrival of the official app doesn’t mean you have to stop using them, and can in fact complement what you use.

The Misfit Flash Cyclist edition was just recently released and is an activity tracker that is especially built for those who regularly bike as their workout or for actual cyclists as well. The difference from the regular Misfit Flash tracker is that it has a key sensor dedicated to cyclists. The price is similar to the original one, at $50.

But the wearable is actually not compatible with the general Misfit Link app, so now that the official app is out, your worries are over. The Misfit Cycling app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store.
