Microsoft seems to be doing a Google by introducing Skype for Web. The program is still in beta mode but it looks promising. This Google-like move refers to the software giant bringing the instant messaging to the web. This means no need to install Skype as a native app on your desktop because you can now enjoy the program on any web browser, on any device, anytime. It’s like using Hangouts on your computer.
Skype for Web (Beta) allows anyone to connect with friends, family, and workmates easier. Anywhere in the world, you can communicate directly from Skype.com. This eliminates the need to download, install, and launch Skype because you can quickly log in to your account and starting chatting.
Instant messaging directly from a web browser has always been possible but it’s only now that Microsoft is joining the brandwagon. Looks like the Redmond company is fully embracing cloud services. It has been making OneDrive and Microsoft Office Mobile more attractive with unlimited storage.
Cloud computing is quickly becoming the standard these days and Microsoft releasing Skype for Web is a good call as it saves your precious storage space, effort, and time. Since this is still in beta, some kinks are still being worked. Video calls are also possible but they might take a while. Let’s wait for Microsoft to enhance Skype for web. Be patient.
