We didn’t since this one coming, after all, LG has just released the limited edition Watch Urbane Luxe a few weeks ago. LG has decided to surprise the audience with the first Android Wear smartwatch to feature cellular connectivity. The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition now features not just Bluetooth or WiFi but also 3G and 4G LTE connectivity. This means it can work to make calls on its own and not just work to receive those calls.

The cellular version of the LG Watch Urbane maintains the round design of the previous model. It’s looks like any classic timepiece, the kind you can own and use for decades or even pass on to the next generation. Specs include a 480 x 480 display (highest resolution so far in a smartwatch), 348ppi, 1.38-inch full circle P-OLED display, 44.5mm diameter, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, and a 570mAh battery–all packed in a stainless steel body. Strap is made of a durable hypoallergenic TPSiV elastomer band.

The LG Watch Urbane 2 also features a Power Saving Mode so smartwatch can last at least the whole day. On the side rim, you’ll notice three buttons that offer access to shortcut settings like an app list, LG Health, or contacts. Press the crown button and you can adjust the Ambient mode setting. This Android Wear-powered watch from LG includes 16 native watch faces, stress level monitoring feature, workout tips, and heart rate tracking among the numerous health and fitness-related activities.

The Android Wear-powered LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will be initially ready for purchase in South Korea and the US. No mention if cellular connectivity will be part of a phone plan or if it will require a separate line. Smartwatch will also be ready in Europe, the Middle Easy, Asia, and CIS and in three color variants: Signature Brown, Luxe White, Opal Blue, and Space Black.
