LG Electronics is definitely going the ThinQ direction. After launching the LG G7 ThinQ and the V30S ThinQ, here’s another one: the LG V35 ThinQ. We learned about this last month and said that it’s already in the works together with the LG V40 ThinQ. Some specs were listed and more details were leaked, making choice more difficult for the mobile consumers. At this point, we know the V series is more premium as it uses OLED display compared to the G series that only uses LCD.
The LG V35ThinQ makes the V line of smartphones more advanced than ever with the AI functionalities. The phone is also faster and captures better photographs. We can expect this device to be available next month in key markets in Africa, Middle East, and Asia. There’s no mention if and when it will be out in the United States but we know AT&T will be selling the V35 ThinQ instead of the LG G7 ThinQ.
To review, the LG V35 ThinQ comes equipped with the following: a 6-inch OLED FullVision screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and QHD+ 2880 x 1440 resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 64GB or 128GB onboard storage, 6GB RAM, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The phone is ready for rough, rugged, and even wet use with its MIL-STD 810G and IP68 rating for dust and water-resistance.
The phone delivers a better and smart camera, thanks to the AI CAM feature. The device comes equipped with dual 16MP rear cameras–one standard and the other with Super Wide Angle lens. The selfie camera is 8MP instead of 5MP. The AI CAM offers 19 shooting modes, Portrait mode with bokeh effects, Live Photo, and Stickers for fun overlay. The face recognition helps in applying those 2D or 3D stickers. The phone also features a new Super Bright Camera so you can take quality images even in low light situations.

The AI features give focus on the Google Lens within the camera app. AI in Google Photos and Google Assistant are also supported. The Google Lens can identify the objects in a scene whether books, animals, plants, and landmarks. You only need to point the cam and the phone will make the adjustments. Information about the scene or object may also be provided. Google Assistant support is supplemented by the Super Far Field Voice Recognition (SFFVR) technology. As with most flagship devices by LG, the V35 ThinQ boasts Hi-Fi Quad DAC and DTS:X delivering richer sound in virtual 3D surround sound.
The LG V35 ThinQ is a great phone. Unlike the G7, it doesn’t have a notch. We recommend you get the G7 ThinQ instead for several reasons. It already has 6GB RAM in some countries. The specs are almost the same but the G7 is cheaper at around $750 while the V35’s cost is already around $900.
