Just as expected, although a little soon, the LG Optimus V for Virgin Mobile has appeared in stores. Currently showing up in select stores, the popular entry-level device is just as all other Optimus One devices, this time featuring Virgin Mobile branding.
The phone is being offered for $150 off-contract, which is an amazing price for what we see as the most impressive entry-mid grade Android device.
The device comes with a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, 3G data connection, Bluetooth, GPS, expansion slot, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. No word on when general availability will come but were expecting the device to be shipped to all locations here soon.
Is the Virgin Mobile pay as you go structure perfect for you? If so, this is probably one of the best devices you could pick up on the network. Will you be getting one?

Would I be correct in assuming that the custom rom that KSmithInNy and Beezy developed for the Optimus S will also work for the Optimus V? I assume it would, except that I don’t see a lot of posts on Google mentioning that the rom works on the T-mobile version. I already have the Intercept, but I’d consider getting one so I could get built-in wireless tethering again.

Or front face cameras. They would be sooooo perfect with those 2 things!
YES I’ll be getting one! A virgin mobile rep had said Feb 17th but an online tech mag article said February 1 so this morning I was on the hunt online to see who released it! I’ve been told Android is the way to go but that Samsung Intercept VMobile has now is Android 2.1 and too expensive…
