Sprint also announced the LG Optimus S today at it’s press conference in San Francisco. Designed with new smartphone users in mind, the Optimus S is making Android navigation an engaging and comfortable process. Featuring Android 2.2 it’s a full featured, highly customizable smartphone on the Sprint market.

Some of the hardware features of the device include a 3.2-inch capacitive touch-screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, microSD slot that supports up to 32 GB, and Integrated WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G. The battery is a 1500 mAh, that will boast up to 5 hours of talk time.

The device will also serve as a mobile hotspot supporting up to five WiFi enabled devices to share the 3G experience simultaneously. Other software features of the upcoming device include Visual Voicemail, MP3 player, Corporate Email, and GPS Navigation all under a Android 2.2 build.

The phone will be released October 31 for less than $50.

Sprint Everything Data plans automatically enroll customers in the Sprint Premier loyalty program, for benefits including annual device upgrades on the primary line.
