Well would you look at that, Lenovo has given us all a treat through their Picasa albums in the form of a couple of Android tablets, one of them by the name of Lenovo IdeaPad K1 and the other by the name of ThinkPad Tablet. The IdeaPad K1 appears to be more of an entertainment device, what with its several color choices in the casing and smooth rounded features, while the ThinkPad Tablet appears to be made for exactly what the ThinkPad notebooks have always been about: business.

The ThinkPad Tablet appears to be a 10-inch tablet running Android 3.0 or 3.1 Honeycomb with a special Lenovo user interface over the top. There appears to four dedicated physical buttons along the bottom, with a proprietary connector, a miniUSB port, mini HDMI, and two cameras, one on back and one up front. There’s a door that more than likely has an SD card hidden behind it, and there’s one docking solution plus a pen with the classic red nib at the end of it.

This is one of two tablets that will be release by Lenovo soon we’re thinking, and with such a simple look and a dedicated fan base already out there in the wild, this may be a winner right out of the box. And what about that user interface? Is it a fully adjusted look at Honeycomb, or is it just a single lockscreen situation? Looks pretty, either way. Stay tuned for the IdeaPad K1 leak pics!

Meanwhile – this look like the Android tablet for you?

Thanks for the tip Riccardo P!

    • Fellow reader, here…  Cry me a friggin river, dude.  You’re not the source.  Lenovo is the source.  As far as you know, Lenovo sent a notification to every android fan blog before they even posted the pics.

  3. Remember, the first ThinkPad (Thinkpad 710T) was a tablet – this is like Lenovo/IBM’s 10th tablet.  Some have been memorable (X41t, or current X220t), some (Thinkpad with paper tablets that transcribed on to the system) were not.
