Last week, we reported on leaked marketing images and specs of the two new Fitbit products set to be released in the next few months. There’s apparently a third one in the offing, and this one might just be the flagship product for the fitness band. The Fitbit Surge seems like it’s meant for “serious athletes” as it has features like a built-in GPS that would benefit those who want to better track all their fitness-related activities throughout the day.

The leaked material shows that Fitibit calls the Surge a “superwatch” and it is not just your average wearable device, as it has GPS-tracking that will benefit mostly the runners who need this feature. It will also reportedly have a PurePulse heart rate monitor that is also the draw for the Fitbit Charge HR, one of the new products that we discussed previously. Surge also will give users real-time data for when you’re running, cycling, swimming or whatever workout you’re doing. Data includes distance, pace, elevation, intensity, etc.

And even when you’re not working out, the Fitbit Surge will also be tracking your other activities like how many steps you’ve taken, how many floors you’ve climbed, how many calories you’ve taken in and how much sleep you’ve gotten. It will even wake you up with a vibrating alarm. It will sync all the data gathered onto your Fitbit app, where you can also manually log in other info and earn you badges when you reach certain achievements. In keeping with its more than just your average fitness wearable, it will also be able to send you notifications for texts and calls from your partnered smartphone, and even control the music playback.

Fitbit Surge will reportedly come out in three colors: black, slate and tangerine. Of course with great features comes a greater price. The flagship device will reportedly retail for $249 which will definitely make it the most expensive Fitbit yet, as compared to the supposedly $220 of the Charge HR. So, unless you really plan on maximizing the features of this upcoming wearable, maybe you’d better stick to the more basic Fitbit if budget is your concern.
