You have to admit that if you want the most badass scary speaking voice, you’ll probably be thinking something along the lines of Jason Statham’s voice. Add to that the British accent and you’re hearing why he’s one of the most sought after action movie leads today. And this is why Glu is investing a lot in this actor gaming tie-in with their game “Sniper X with Jason Statham”.
The actor is lending his voice acting and likeness to the game, so not only will you be hearing that badass voice, you’ll also be seeing depictions of his image in game. “As Glu’s first male celebrity partner, Jason Statham’s over 55 million social followers add a new demographic to the company’s celebrity gaming platform,” said Niccolo de Masi, Glu Chairman and CEO.
According to de Masi, the actor was also quick to give his “creative input throughout the game’s development”, giving this game a “unique and authentic action-adventure” feel coming from the actor himself. We all know what a sniper shooting game is, there are a lot of those around. What would be interesting is how Statham’s presence and input would make this game and genre fresh again.
Glu has made lots of money using actor tie-ins, starting with their relatively successful “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” app, which raked in almost USD$200 million for them.
