This isn’t the first time we have seen leaked specs and images for the Huawei MediaPad X1. Details leaked back in late-January, and while the images aren’t quite perfect this time around, they are providing a much better look at the tablet. What we are seeing comes courtesy of the Tenaa, which is the Chinese equivalent of the FCC.
This spec leak does mirror some of the earlier leaks, which seems to suggest we are seeing an accurate list. Of course, as with any leaks, we do have to remember that nothing is official until we hear direct from the company. In this case, that means Huawei, who have already been teasing something for Mobile World Congress.
The Huawei MWC 2014 teaser video included mention of unlocking possibilities. The video included mention of three devices, however two of those three were tablets. There was a regular tablet with a “beautiful slim design” and “huge battery that gives you days of use.” The other tablet was more media oriented and speculation could suggest we are hearing about the MediaPad X1.
Huawei is teasing this one as being an “amazing device” that is able to provide the “ultimate entertainment experience.” Anyway, an official unveil will obviously tell more about the three devices being teased by Huawei, however in the meantime we are still looking to these leaks and rumors. Going back to this route and we see the images from the Tenaa (sitting above).
As for those specs, the Tenaa filing is showing the MediaPad X1 as having a 7-inch (1920 x 1200) display, and powered by a quad-core 1.6GHz HiSilicon V9R1 processor with 2GB of RAM. Other details include the tablet running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and sporting a 5MP camera on the front with a 13MP camera on the back.
