Nothing much to say here because we’re still considering the Huawei Mate 8 as a rumor until the Chinese OEM makes an official announcement tomorrow. It’s something we’ve been expecting since July. But then again, there’s already a teaser for a November 26 unveiling of a device that has some ‘8’ reference. Of course, let’s not forget that AnTuTu database sighting as well where a new Huawei model was listed and the specs leaked.
Here’s a new set of leaked images of the purported Huawei Mate 8. You’ll notice the back panel design is different from the previous photos we’ve featured already. There’s no rectangular component at the back–just another round button and the rear camera and flash placed in the middle.
The Huawei Mate 8 (sometimes also called the Ascend Mate 8) will feature a full metal unibody design. The fingerprint recognition sensor is obviously there. From this new set of renders, we can gather that the phone will be bezel-less. Phone looks very slim and thin too. As for the speakers, they appear to be at the bottom instead of in the back.
The render also hints that the Huawei Mate 8 will be available in three color variants: gold, copper, and grey. The Huawei event is happening tomorrow, Thursday. That’s only a few hours from now so let’s wait and see how the Huawei Mate 8 will really look. I’m guessing these renders are the real thing or if not, close to the actual handset.
