Huawei is making another grand entrance when it introduces the new Honor phone. The Honor 8 was officially introduced last week in wherelse–it’s native China. The OEM recently sent out press invites to a special event this August 16 we’re assuming is for the new Honor 8. Unlike in China, it’s always a grander launch in the US as the Asian company plans on becoming bigger in the country.
We have no doubt that the new Honor 8 will become popular because Huawei is already the top mobile brand in China after edging out Xiaomi the past year. It’s also making a noise in the US and China under the Honor sub-brand. After the success of the Honor 5x and Honor 7, here’s the Honor 8 complete with an octa-core Kirin 950 processor, 3G/4GB RAM, maximum of 64GB onboard storage, dual 12MP camera, USB Type C, and a 3000mAh battery. The device features two SIM slots so you can use two SIM cards at the same time. There’s no microSD card slot but you can use one of the SIM slots available.
The Honor 8 also features a 5.2-inch screen with 1080p resolution. It features a 12MP dual camera system and an 8MP front-facing camera. It runs the latest Android Marshmallow but is topped by EMUI 4.1 in China. We were hoping for an update to the EMUI but we only have the 4.1 for now.
