Details of the HTC Zara smartphone surfaced earlier in the week, though at the time there wasn’t much more than a name. The only other pieces of information that were revealed at that time was in regards to the Zara being a lower-end device made of plastic and that it was expected to arrive late in 2013. Those details were coming by way of the China Times, which also hinted at where the handset was headed.

Anyway, flash forward a few days and it looks like some additional information has come available. This latest round still has the Zara pegged as being a mid-range device, however there are some specs. The handset is said to be sporting a 4.5-inch (540 x 960) qHD display and a dual-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM.

Other specs include 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The camera setup looks to include a 1.6 megapixel front-facing camera and an UltraPixel camera on the backside. The handset should also drop with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5.0.

The version that will arrive in China is expected to be a dual-SIM model, however there was also talk of this one coming to the US by way of Sprint. Of course, as with any early leaks — these details are all subject to change before we see anything official announced. Bottom line here, it is looking like the Zara may be a mix of the Butterfly and the One lines from HTC.
