The HTC 10 is this week’s talk of gadget town. The Taiwanese company showcased more details in a 10-minute video and T-Mobile unboxed one while aboard a chopper over Las Vegas. Early impressions include the phone wowing some mobile experts with its OIS Selfie camera, 12MP Ultrapixel cam, and the high-fi, hi-res audio delivered by the BoomSound technology.
Our hands-on session had us saying its an upgraded One M7 but we know this device may help HTC pull up numbers. That is, if the company does proper marketing and put a nice price tag not only on the HTC 10 but also on the mid-range variant, the HTC 10 Lifestyle.
During launch, HTC announced that retail price will start at $699. That’s the premium you need to pay if you want this flagship. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 are sold at around the same price point but will still depend on each mobile carrier in every region.
In the United States, Canada, and Europe, you can directly order an HTC 10 from the local HTC website. Stateside, we only know Verizon and T-Mobile will carry the smartphone and KDDI in Japan with the exclusive Camellia Red model. For the willing early adopters, HTC is offering special discounts. The #powerof10 now also translates to either a 10 percent or $100 discount.
The $699 HTC 10 in the US will be down to $599. In Canada, take a hundred dollars off. In the UK, enjoy a ten percent discount off the price. Check HTC.com for more information and global availability.
