If you’re looking for an awesome smartphone for a low price, the folks from HTC and AT&T might have exactly what you need. Just in time for summer to be coming to an end AT&T has slashed the price on their flagship HTC One X smartphone in half. From $199 to just $99 bucks on a new 2-year contract.

Early reports suggested this was only a rumor, but it has now been confirmed by multiple sources including RadioShack. They reported that starting Sunday, July 29th, the HTC One X on AT&T will be just $99 in their retail stores nationwide. That’s a pretty good deal if you ask me.

The Motorola Atrix HD comes in at the same price, similar specs, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich too — but it has a locked bootloader, on-screen navigation buttons, and a smaller 4.5-inch display. This price point is actually a solid move by HTC as it stops them from losing out on sales from the Atrix, while undercutting the Galaxy S III. 1. when did this phone actually launch? was it just
two months ago? As much as I hate Apple at least
Their carp holds some valve. Then we have T-Mobile
launching the old version of the Note as new just as Samsung
is about to announce the note 2. Now that’s a train wreck
waiting to happen. Surely it wouldn’t hurt the oem’s to slow
the release of some phones. That way at least people that just bought
into a new phone don’t feel like they got taken.
Just seems awful fast you know?.

  2. Man, i wish they had this price cut a few months ago when i got this phone! the HTC One X’s screen is great for showcasing my hairstyles to customers here in Austin. And of course, AT&T’s 4G LTE delivers data at phenomenal speeds to my phone, even photos. I’m pretty happy but a discount like this would’ve been nice.
