Just this morning we reported on some recent comments by HTC talking about the software update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and now it appears to already be arriving. In fact an HTC president just said the developer edition One would see the update next week, and now this morning we’re seeing reports of the HTC One getting 4.3 in Taiwan.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Sense UI 5.0 is reportedly hitting all HTC One units in Taiwan at the moment, and a bigger rollout to other regions is expected to shortly follow. So far we’re hearing the update is rather large coming in at over 500MB. You might want to download it over WiFi and then update to the latest and greatest.
The update fixes some camera issues, improves tons of animations and other UI tweaks, and much more. So far we don’t know all the details, but a similar update should hit the Developer Edition soon, and eventually the HTC One for other regions. However, a US launch is probably at least another month or so out, as we all know our carriers take their sweet time. As a reminder a version of 4.3 leaked for AT&T’s One earlier, so it’s at least getting close.
The HTC One in Canada is also expected to get 4.3 by the end of the month, which is coming up quick, so you might want to start checking for updates if you’re rocking the 4.7-inch flagship handset. We like the quick pace we’re seeing here from HTC and hopefully they can keep it up, and keep supporting older devices.
