It wasn’t all that long back when we got the first official look at the HTC Butterfly S, however as of today it is looking like there is a dual-SIM model that has yet to be announced by HTC. Details of this handset recently appeared on Twitter coming by way of the @leakschina account which is showing the handset from all sides.
When announced the HTC Butterfly S was shown in three colors — white, silver and red. This image leak introduces another color — black with red trim. The interesting part here, if this image wasn’t said to be of the dual-SIM variety, we would think this would be the model bound for Verizon Wireless.
The key here seems to be the dual-SIM support, which really just means the handset is capable of running two active SIM cards. You could have one for work and one for personal, which means two accounts and two numbers but only one phone to maintain and keep charged.
Otherwise, the specs that came along with this image likely sound familiar to those who remember the single-SIM Butterfly S announcement. Those include a 5-inch 1080p display along with a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB of RAM. The handset is also expected to arrive running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and with an Ultrapixel camera on the back.
Basically, this handset appears to be just what would be expected — a device with the same specs as the regular Butterfly S but with one exception — that second SIM card slot. While we are expecting the US market to eventually get a version of the Butterfly S, it will most likely be of the single-SIM variety.
