HTC 10 Evo

HTC officially announced the HTC Bolt early this month and we soon learned that it will be called as the HTC 10 Evo in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. We don’t see the need in changing names but the ‘Bolt’ reference has always been exclusive to a mobile network in the US. Well, not officially but it comes from the previous Thunderbolt series. Of course, HTC had to get Usain Bolt too as endorser.

Today, HTC is launching the HTC 10 evo as the the first all-metal unibody, water-resistant Android phone in Europe. This is the same smartphone that comes equipped with a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, USB-C dual adaptive earphones, 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, and 8MP front camera with Auto HDR. The full-metal unibody of this HTC phone gives it a premium look and feel, coupled with an IP57 rating so the device is water- and dust-resistant. It’s durable enough to withstand spills, dunks, and dust.

HTC made sure that the phone passes several tests from drop to bend, scratch, corrosion, climate, and submersion. Phone will last long as it will always be ready for rough, everyday or outdoor use. Other specs of the HTC 10 evo include a 5.5-inch Super LCD 3 with curved-edge Gorilla Glass 5 display, up to 2.0 Ghz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 32GB/64GB onboard storage, 3GB RAM, microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2TB, and a 3200mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. When it comes to imaging, the HTC 10 evo boasts of a 16MP main cam with Phase detection autofocus, OIS, and f/2.0 aperture while the 8MP camera is capable of Full HD 1080p video recording.

Another impressive feature of the HTC 10 evo is its adaptive audio, thanks to the HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio technology, microphones with noise cancelation, and Hi-Res Audio stereo recording. The earphones actually adapt to a person’s unique ear structure, as well as, the environment. Note that there is still no headphone jack.

Choose from the three color options: Pearl Gold, Glacier Silver, or Gunmetal. HTC will release the smartphone in several key markets before this November but expect more rollouts to happen before this month ends. Available for around $600.
