In every version of the Android mobile OS, the development team always tries to improve battery life. The latest Marshmallow update is expected to greatly enhance battery life with Doze Mode and App Standby. Those two features are certainly helpful but there are other apps that can assist more in this area. One perfect example is Greenify which recently received an official update after being in beta.

Greenify v2.8 now comes with a new feature called Aggressive Doze mode. It doesn’t require any rooting so you are free to use it immediately. There is also the Shallow Hibernation feature that works beyond what Marshmallow can do. According to the changelog, the updated Greenify brings a seamless auto-hibernation experience in non-root mode. You’ll also notice a new Nav-bar gesture for Android 6.0 and you can use the Hibernate and Lock Screen shorcut with Smart Lock already.

Greenify is regularly updated. We already knew before that it would be making an attempt to make better Doze mode in Android 6.0. What’s good about the Greenify app is that it can also boost usage on non-rooted devices. It now boasts of an improved working state detection logic while the Tasker plug-in is now able to run with compatible tools. There’s also the new wake-lock-free hibertion engine which we’re assuming helps in making this app a more aggressive power saving tool than ever.

As with most app updates, several bugs have been squashed. The “Wake-up” feature in Tasker plug-in has been fixed, as well as, the app running state detection on both Android 5.1.1_r9 Lollipop and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
