We know Google is still and will forever be the best in search. No one can unseat the king of Search and we don’t think that fact will change anytime soon. We just know the company will only improve and innovate. Google Search is frequently updated so it’s kind of difficult to follow its numerous and ever-changing algorithms. The last update we featured was the service allowing you to navigate crowds this holiday season.
Search results have been AMPlified as well a few months ago. This time, the Google Search mobile app may get another round of updates that will add a Lite mode and Recent tab. The new features are just two that Google is working on.
Some mobile users of Google Search have reported of the changes that are now in testing phase. You’ll see the Recent tab in the slide-out menu on the left. You’ll see there the recent pages visited for a certain search.
There’s also the possibility of an Offline mode so you can save searches in case the Internet connection is lost. Feel free to manage searches with the new Manage searches option. The Lite mode is also being tested. It’s ideal for those in the emerging markets and regions where Internet or data connections are limited and slow. The Lite mode will only show text results without any images. Google is said to switch to it once slow connection is detected.
The changes we’ve mentioned are all available on the server-side. You won’t see them on the Play Store yet but expect the update to roll out in the coming weeks.
