google app updated

The Google app has just received a special update in time for the arrival of the Android Lollipop. One of the most notable changes in design is the search results page. It’s more Material Design-ish now with a simpler layout, fluid animations, and bolder colors. This will be more obvious on Android Lollipop-powered smartphones and tablets.

For the newer devices like the Nexus 9, Nexus 6, and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, you can enable your phone and say “Ok Google” whenever you want to ask a question. Even when phone is unplugged or screen is off, you can still “talk” to the device and ask anything.

The Google Search update also includes a new card that shows reminders of the things you need to or events you need to remember. Google can automatically look up your Gmail account for plans you may have forgotten to put on your calendar. This new feature will be helpful as you try to finish the year attending all parties, beating work deadlines, paying bills, and keeping track of all holiday trips.

Search can also help searching for another app installed in your device. Say “Ok Google” and search for your stuff on your favorite info apps like Tumblr, TripAdvisor, TuneIn, Trulia, or YouTube. Just say “Ok Google, search Tumblr for ‘this or that’ and app will automatically do its job.

Last but not the least, the updated Google Search now features a virtual coin that can be flipped whenever you need to make a decision. You know how hard it is to make up your mind sometimes so just flip a coin on your Google app.
