There are some purchases you make on Google Play, like movies, music, TV shows, books, games, and apps that you wish could be viewed or used by your other family members. But you really wouldn’t want them to use your device or to buy it for them again just so they can have it on their own devices. Well, you can actually share it with them now because Google Play Family Library is now available across all Android devices.

You will be able to add up to 6 family members on your Family Library, so that whatever purchase you save on there will be accessible to all of the listed members. We’ve actually known about this feature for a while since Google introduced it to developers, informing them about the plan to do this and getting them to decide whether or not to include their app or game or product in the sharing format. So obviously, there will be some limitations as to which apps/developers agreed to participate.

But for those eligible apps, family members will be able to enjoy it across all Android devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, or TV. You will still be able to choose which purchases will be included in the Family Library and which ones you want to just be your own. You can also add your credit card that you’d want to share, but the other members can also choose to pay for their own. For the children in the family, you have the option to approve or disapprove their planned purchase.

They are also introducing the Google Play Music family plan to other territories, like Ireland, Italy, Mexico and New Zealand. This means up to 6 family members will also be able to stream all the songs in their extensive library for just $14.99 per month. The Google Play Family Library is rolling out initially in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
