If there’s one thing that people will not agree on (well, aside from politics of course), it’s how and where to share your pictures from your latest trip or your last party. While of course you could always upload it on social networks, some things aren’t always meant to be shared in public. You send pics through text, email, other apps, etc, but it can at times be a bit tedious. The latest update to Google Photos may make things a bit easier by letting you share photos through contacts and not through apps.

Once you’ve updated to the latest version, the next time you want to share photos with your family or friends or contacts, all you have to do is choose share and then tap on the people that you want to share your photos with. If they have Google Photos as well, then they will get a notification that you’ve shared something with them. If they only have an email address, they will receive a link to your Google Photos. Same goes if they only have a mobile number with you. This way, you can focus on the photos themselves instead of trying to figure out which app to use for which person.

Google Photos also wants to help you created automated videos based on what you’ve been uploading on the photo cloud app. Currently, it will create videos using the photos you’ve recently saved, but now, they’re going more into “creative concepts”. It will scour through all the photos you’ve uploaded that will fit into the concept video. For example, with the “They Grow Up So Fast” concept, it will look through all your photos and if it sees the same kid, it can stitch together a video about him/her.

Google promises to add more concepts to make it easier for you to have photo movies that you would have made if you had more time. You can update your Google Photos app from the Google Play page to enjoy these new features.
