Google recently updated the Google Photos app for Android with an improved search experience. If you haven’t switched to Google Photos or have not tried to use it, now is the time as the tech giant already pushed numerous updates since its public launch last year at the Google I/O Conference. Some recent changes include the manual backup option, retrieval of unedited photos, smarter photo albums, enhanced UI, Shared Albums, and the special memory feature among others.
Google Photos is one of the most frequently updated apps. Here’s another after a couple of weeks since the last one. You may notice the new search bar that allows you to search with just a single tap. If you tap on the search bar, you can quickly scroll down to view places, photo types, or faces on the search results.
Enhanced customization is also possible with the movies created in Google Photos. The app automatically makes movies complete with photos, music, and videos from your media gallery.
With this update, you can now also delete device folders or rename them. Feel free to manage the photos saved on your SD cards by moving, copying, or putting them on folders. Organizing your photos are made easier now on Google Photos for Android.

another feature I have noticed is that if I now edit an image in an extern app like snapseed, it will now replace the image inline instead of creating a new one = it can roll back changes.
