India has long proven to be an important market in the mobile industry. Together with China, it has grown to become a significant source of sales. It’s an emerging market and no wonder why some tech companies and manufacturers are moving their factories and offices there. One of the brands doing well in the country is Samsung mostly launching mid-range smartphones.

The latest to be introduced is the Samsung Galaxy On8 which is joining the Galaxy On5 and Galaxy On7 in the lineup. We’re not sure though if and when the other two will also be out in India as they only recently launched in China.

Samsung has too many smartphone offerings but not all will roll out in markets worldwide. Most are region-specific and are within the budget-friendly, entry-level, and mid-range categories.

As for the Galaxy On8, it seems more mid-range to premium with the specs: 5.5-inch Full HD display screen, 3GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB, 13MP main camera, 5MP front-facing shooter, 1.6 Ghz octa core Exynos 7580 processor, and a 3300mAh Li-Ion battery. Those are not exactly high-end but for the price of 15,900 rupees which is around $259, it’s a bang for your buck.

The 16GB Gold variant of the Samsung Galaxy On8 will be available soon in India from Flipkart. Mobile plans will be offered in Easy Monthly Instalments (EMI) through several banks.
