The new Disney animated film Big Hero 6 is set to open on November 7, and of course just like any adventure-type movie now, it has to have a mobile game tie-in. Big Hero 6 Bot Fight is set a year after the events of the movie, but don’t worry, there are no spoilers here (or so we hope). This is a match 3 game, so it shouldn’t be that complicated. But you probably should have seen the movie, or at least the trailer, to have some appreciation for the game.

In order to destroy Yama, the big villain in the movie and in this game, you don’t need to do epic combat moves or plan an attack strategy. Well, there is still some planning involved, but more on how to best match 3 power cells or bots in order to power up your team and reprogram the V.I.L.E infected bots (we trust that this will make sense once we’ve watched the movie). Each stage also has star objectives where you can finish the level with just a certain amount of turns, or damaging a certain amount to the enemy, in order to make it even more challenging to those following in your digital footsteps.

Another aspect of the game is collecting over one hundred different bots. You can upgrade them by getting rare parts and then using different bot combinations in order to find which is your most powerful team (because obviously, you need the best team to match colors and cells and stuff). San Fransokyo (yes, that’s the name of their city in the movie) is showcased in the game as well, and the graphics are pretty nifty for a match 3 type of game.

Big Hero 6 Bot Fight is available to download for free from the Google Play Store. There are some in-app purchases, so be careful with your payment settings if someone else will also be playing the game on your smartphone or tablet.
