After the update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge and the recent Galaxy Note 5 getting its first software update that improved battery usage, here’s another one for the Galaxy S6 edge+. It’s a similar update so we can expect almost the same improvements on call stability, mobile security, and phone battery usage. Certainly, the phablet’s 3,000 mAh battery needs improving especially since it has to deliver great performance all the time.
This quick rollout is not really surprising since the Note 5 and S6 edge+ have almost the same specs. Software isn’t as similar though because of the Note’s stylus features but Samsung is more than ready. Perhaps it’s one part of the tech giant’s new security update process which is supposed to deliver updates to Samsung device owners faster than before.
This particular software update is build number G928GDDU2AOJ5. Size is only 138.14MB so it should be light to download. Those in India and Europe are able to download the update now so you should be receiving the package anytime soon. We don’t know how much improvement the S6 edge+’s battery will receive yet but it should be significant.
As with any other software update on a mobile device, you always check of the update is ready by going to Settings> About device> Software update. Click on the Update now button to check for available software updates. If a new version is ready, click on the Install button. Downloading will take minutes so be patient.
