As we would always say the past few weeks, Samsung is very much busy these days with working on software updates and developing new products. Perhaps it’s because of the recent Note 7 fiasco that the South Korean tech giant doesn’t want to become irrelevant. We know it won’t go down really low and it will still remain as an important part of the tech and mobile industries.
When it comes to firmware and software updates, Samsung tries to be regular and on time. Before an official version is released, the Galaxy Beta program is announced and opened for each phone model. The latest Android Nougat is almost ready for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge as registrations for the Galaxy Beta program was opened three weeks ago. Slots were soon filled up and the company had to close it.
In the United Kingdom, beta testing has just started again. For the current beta testers, small updates are now available that includes some new features and fixes on several bugs and errors. Meanwhile in the United States, registrations will open again this week.
To review, the Nougat-powered Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will feature the following: new emojis, improved notification system, split-screen mode, quick switching between apps, new Calendar app, 3rd-party app functions, Video Enhancer, as well as, new gestures like ‘double-tap to check phone’ and
‘lift to check phone’ .
