FreedomPop has announced a new mobile plan today. This one will be offering unlimited voice and text and according to details provided, this one is “aimed at destroying the current industry pricing model.” To that point, this new FreedomPop plan starts at $4.58 per month. While there is no annual contract needed, that $4.58 per month price will vary depending on the length of your initial commitment.
To begin with, this plan includes unlimited voice and text, as well as voicemail and 500MB of data. That having been said, those looking to signup on a month-to-month basis can expect to pay $10.99. The $4.58 per month price comes in for those choosing to pay upfront for two-years. That would be an initial one-time payment of $110.
Similarly, FreedomPop also has a 12 month option available with a one-time payment of $79.99. That would have the monthly price sitting at $6.67. And for those still looking to see just how much of a bargain these plans are — FreedomPop also mentions how the two-year option is 95 percent off, as compared to AT&T.
Along with this new plan, FreedomPop hasn’t retired the original free plan, which includes 200 minutes, 500 text messages and 500MB of data. As for phones, the carrier had introduced an HTC EVO Design, and as of today have announced the Samsung Galaxy S II. The Galaxy S II is far from the latest or greatest at this point, but for a contract-free $169 — it should pair nicely with the plans offered by FreedomPop. Plus, there is also an option to bring your own device.
