Retailer Expansys has announced that it will be the exclusive supplier of the Acer Stream Android smartphone in the UK. Priced at £399.99 ($610) including tax, and set to go on sale come August 3rd, the Acer Stream takes on the Google Nexus One with a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera (with autofocus but no flash) and an HDMI output.
There’s also the usual mixture of triband 900/1900/2100 HSDPA/HSUPA, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS, along with DLNA media sharing, 2GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. The Stream can record 720p HD video at 30fps, and is powered by Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon chipset. OS is Android 2.1, and it’s available to preorder now.
[Thanks Tony!]
That is going to be a pricey android smartphone I should say. I think I need to check out the video of the Acer Stream’s performance and usage. Thanks a lot for the info.
