Retailer Expansys has announced that it will be the exclusive supplier of the Acer Stream Android smartphone in the UK.  Priced at £399.99 ($610) including tax, and set to go on sale come August 3rd, the Acer Stream takes on the Google Nexus One with a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera (with autofocus but no flash) and an HDMI output.

There's also the usual mixture of triband 900/1900/2100 HSDPA/HSUPA, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS, along with DLNA media sharing, 2GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot.  The Stream can record 720p HD video at 30fps, and is powered by Qualcomm's 1GHz Snapdragon chipset.  OS is Android 2.1, and it's available to preorder now.

That is going to be a pricey android smartphone I should say. I think I need to check out the video of the Acer Stream’s performance and usage. Thanks a lot for the info.
