It takes guts and a lot of courage to recall a certain product especially if it’s already popular. Mobile carrier EE recently decided to issue a recall for the Power Bar USB batteries after receiving complaints of overheating. Such issue can dangerous. EE shop didn’t want to take the risk and simply wanted to avoid further damage so the company voluntarily recalled the product.

We don’t know how many exactly filed their complaints but EE said it received just a small number. The company simply wants to be safe so it’s recalling all the EE Power Bars already sold to make sure customers are safe. Instead of just waiting for a bigger problem to happen, EE took the first step to public safety.

So if you happen to own an EE Power Bar from the wireless carrier, send it back to the store. EE announced, “We’re recalling all EE Power Bars. This is just a precaution, but we want to make sure all our customers are safe. If you have a Power Bar, you should stop using it straight away and hand it in to one of our stores”.

To make things more convenient for customers, a £20 voucher will be given to everyone who will return the Power Bar charger. The voucher can then be used at EE Shop to purchase more accessories. According to EE, the charger was first offered free to new and current customers of EE back in April. At present, we have no idea EE will be replacing the battery or will release a totally new device. But for sure, the company is doing its own investigation and testing.

Below is the exact statement of EE:

We’re recalling all EE Power Bars. This is just a precaution, but we want to make sure all our customers are safe.

If you have a Power Bar, you should stop using it straight away and hand it in to one of our stores.

We are taking this action because we are aware of a very small number of further incidents where Power Bars have overheated in circumstances that could cause a fire safety risk.

Keeping our customers safe is extremely important to us, and that’s why we’re taking this voluntary and precautionary action.
